The history of the Carthusian Court

Our farm was built in 1380 as a reading farm of the Charterhouse Aggsbach, hence the name Kartäuserhof.

In 1862, the Stierschneider family took over the Carthusian farm. The farm was expanded over 3 generations to the current production size of about 100,000 bottles.

The vineyards are located in south exposed terraced sites of the vineyards Achleiten, Klaus, Weitenberg, Hinterkirchen, Steinriegl and Seiberer.

Operations Management

Karl is responsible for all tractor work, in addition he is cellar master in the winery and manages the entire coordination within the company. Of course, he is also present at presentations and, together with Rikki, takes care of the contact management of our gastronomy and hotel businesses as well as wine merchants and vinotheques.

Rikki Maderthaner

Sales management and office administration

Rikki is mainly responsible for direct customer contact, she does tastings, farm sales as well as various tastings and labeling. She is also responsible for shipping our wines and is present at all presentations.

Jakob Stierschneider

Junior Chef

Jakob assists in all areas of the farm, including work in the vineyard, cellar as well as presentations, sometimes also the farm sale and tastings.
